Since 2006 she has worked as a freelance dance-artist in Northern Norway where choreography and dancing has been her main objectives. This site is meant to be her CV.
Her work and mission
Vorren is a dance artist from Tromsø, currently living at Nesodden outside of Oslo. In all of the years that she has worked as a creativ artist with her own projects she has worked with how her practice as contemporary dance artist could develop and expand by combining it with other art forms. Like this she aims to shed light on themes she herself find interesting and societal. This has a.o. led to project collaborating with musicians, composers, stage comat/ stunt, new circus, capoeira and not least the development and innovation of dance together with the movement art parkour, something she is a pionéer for in Norway and Scandinavia.
As a dancer she has worked in projects and with choreographers that deal with a fusion of artistc expressions, and during the past few years she has been engaged in projects with a strong political/ socially critical thematics and profile. This is where she herself wishes to continue her research and development as an artist. She says: “As an artist we are spokes people and a mirror to the society we live in. This gives us a responsibility to shed light on those parts of our society that we see gets too little attention, that we wish to see change, that we see are unfair, to lift up those that are “weaker” or the marginalized groups of our society, both nationally and internationally. In the political climate of today it seems particularly important for us as artists to engage. We have an opportunity to be a positive influence, and as such we are obliged to make use of that opportunity.”
